5 things to do Before Summer Ends

That time of year has creeped up on us once again.  Although, we know it comes every single year without fail, it still manages to catch us off guard every time.  So as the nights turn cooler and the days become shorter, make the most of your last few weeks of summer before you have to switch out your swimwear for work-wear.

In order to help deal with the sad event of our pool days being exchanged for long days spent indoors, we have some suggestions of what to do in the last few days of summer:

1.  Stay outside!
This is an obvious one.  The sun is shining, the cool breeze is blowing and the pool is calling your name.  Listen to it.  Layout by the pool with friends or liven up the afternoons with some exciting water games.  Either way, enjoy the summer breeze and the opportunity to spend every waking moment living the summer dream.

2. Go on an Adventure
I don’t just mean watching your typical morning show BEFORE you have your usual cup of coffee.  But a real adventure!  Pack up your camping gear and research some fun campsites or national parks near your home.  There are only so many days of the year where you can actually enjoy sitting outside at night by a campfire without freezing.  Spend your afternoons hiking trails surrounded by amazing views and your nights flipping burgers for friends and family on your grill.

3. Barbeque
Rally up the troops for an evening spent outdoors with great company.  Depending on where you are in the world it can get a bit chilly at night, so set up an outdoor fireplace, where your friends can relax while dinner is being grilled to perfection.  Relish in the carefree summer atmosphere as you sip on some ice cold beverages and jam out to some tunes while exchanging stories of your summer adventures. Helpful Tip: Make it easy on yourself and have each friend bring a different course so you don’t have to be in the kitchen the entire evening.

4. Capture Every Moment
Some of the best moments will occur during the feelgood months of summer.  This is a time of the year where the usual stress of schedules and appointments evaporates into moments of bliss.  Make sure to have your camera or phone readily available to capture these great feelings.  Later, frame these memories and when school or work life consumes your days, you can look back at these photographs and remember those fun days spent soaking in the sun.

Pool Party5. Throw a back to school party
Embrace the inevitable, and put a positive spin on going back to school (…if you are out of school, get creative, ‘Back to Winter Clothes’ or ‘Goodbye Pool Days’ Party…you get the idea).  Use this party as a way to savor every possible summer activity.  This means, combine all of the suggestions above into one big blow-out.  Fire up the barbeque, crank up the music and keep the beverages ice cold!  It’s still summertime!

Summer can be the best time of the year (we know it’s our one of our favorites) and we hope this list of ideas helps you stay cool and make the most of your last weeks of summer!

Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day is June 16th making it less than a couple of weeks away.  With that said, have you thought about what to get for the amazing man in your life?

It’s hard to find the perfect gift that says…Father's Day
…so we put together a guideline for picking out the perfect Father’s Day gift!

For the Sentimental Dad:
Father's Day_SentimentalThis Dad cherishes every moment spent with family and loved ones. The perfect gift should remind him of all of those amazing memories made over the years and reflect why he is such an awesome role model.  This Dad has most likely photographed every moment from your Kindergarten graduation, sending you off to college to holding back the tears as he gives you away on your wedding day. The Digital Photo Frame allows you to connect your memory card or USB hard drive to display an array of amazing high quality photos for the perfect trip down memory lane.

The Adventurous Dad:
Father's Day_OutdoorsyWhether it is hunting, fishing or hiking, it is no question that you will always find this Dad doing some activity outdoors.  He has probably dragged you on countless camping trips where you are forced to ditch technology for a little one on one time with nature.  Although, you probably ended up enjoying waking up to the smell of fresh air, spending all day hiking surrounded by the gorgeous views and falling asleep after watching the sunset.  Show him that you appreciate his outdoorsy side, and never miss another breath-taking view with a pair of our brand name binoculars and choose to spend father’s day grilling out and sleeping under the stars in one of our spacious tents.

The Techy Dad
Father's Day_TechyHe is the one who is always first in line to buy the newest tech device, on every waiting list for any upcoming technology release and whether or not he knows how to use all of it, he just has to have it.  The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga is the ultimate gift for the Dad who can’t decide his preference between the Laptop or the touchscreen.  He will be amazed by the 360 degree range of the screen that allows you to work in 4 different modes.  If your Dad is more intrigued with size and portability, then the HP Slate 7 Tablet is the best choice. It allows 24/7 access to all your photos, games, documents, email, apps and more, right in the palm of your hand.  If his mentality is “The Bigger the Better”, then the Samsung 75″ Smart TV will provide the ultimate viewing experience.

No matter what gift you give him, we want to thank all the father’s out there and wish each and every one of them a Happy Father’s Day from Howard Industries!
